Abstract

Palladius Opus agriculturae profoundly innovated the Latin language of agronomy of Late Antiquity. The lexical and semantic neologisms used by Palladius demonstrate his knowledge as a professional agronomist. These neologisms, drawn on the popular language, probably contributed to the development of the Italian terminology.
