Costrutti a controllo e accusativo con l’infinito nella versione delle “Meditationes Vitae Christi” trasmessa dal ms. Paris, Bibliothèque Nationale, Ital.115
Abstract
In this work we analyse, within a medieval Tuscan text, the Meditationes Vitae Christi, two infinitival constructions: control structures, on the one hand, and the accusative with an infinitive, on the other. This text, together with its Latin version, dates back to the first half of the 14th century. We investigate to what extent the vulgar text exhibits the typical properties of these two infinitival constructions, of which the control structure is found in both ancient and modern Italian language, while the accusative with an infinitive construction doesn’t survive in the modern variety of Italian. The vernacular examples are put sistematically in relation with the corresponding Latin ones.
