Abstract

The paper outlines a proposal for teaching grammar in the first two years of higher secondary school based on a simplified approach to generative minimalist syntax. The approach is complementary to a traditional way of teaching grammar, but learning the syntax of matrix clauses and complex sentences becomes simpler thanks to the visual representation in syntagmatic trees.
